Just a small aluminium panel job for Retro Automotive.

Replacement of the original aluminium dash for the Panache kit car was undertaken by first planning how to proceed without having to tear down the engine bay to remove the one piece dash/ firewall, it was decided that the best course of action was to make a cut beneath where the foam rubber for the windscreen would effectively hide the join hoping for a seamless repair.

Then fitting of the supplied components, not quite as easy as it would appear, the best location visually had a fairly substantial steel subframe directly behind, so we managed to squeak it in a little lower.

Then onto some panels for the back. Originally the kit car had a wooden panel behind the seat, this was replaced with aluminium that will have noise reducing film fitted to the back side. We slightly widened the rear cover panel to hide the underlying raw edge, this makes it a tricky fit, but as its not an everyday occurence the finish makes up for the inconvenience.
