Just a small fabrication job for Retro Automotive this time, design and manufacture of an intake manifold to suit a Mazda 12A peripheral port (PP) engine with an IDA carburettor.
First was to determine the size and locations of all features required for the flanges, there is no standard for a PP engine so it was a matter of using a combination of initially measuring, then printing out a one to one template to verify.
Then we had Matt at Acucut in Oamaru cut out our flanges and thought it might be a nice touch to include the Retro (RA) logo engraved into the product.
Finally using an original std intake manifold as a reference we manufactured the final product ready to run on the test bed before being installed into the car.
